Most founders don’t set out to become the bottleneck. Their judgement, standards and willingness to get involved helped build the business. But as the business grows in size and complexity, that same approach becomes harder to sustain.
The team can do the work, but the decisions that carry real risk still need your judgement before things move forward.
The right conversations don't happen early enough, so symptoms get fixed while the root causes remain.
Good ideas don't turn into consistent action because nobody is clearly responsible for making sure they happen, so progress still falls back to you.
Simon Adcock, Chairman of ATEC Security and Professional EOS Implementer®
I watched my dad live the Founder Trap before I lived it myself. Then, at 19, I took over a struggling family business. Over the years, I helped turn it into a successful security technology company with more than 50 employees. Good reputation. Good people. Real progress.
But for far too long, the business still depended on me. I was the person who knew the history, made the calls, solved the awkward problems and dealt with the things nobody else quite owned. From the outside, it looked like a strong business. Inside, too much judgement, context and responsibility still sat with me.
I knew I needed a leadership team. I also found out, the hard way, that building one is not as simple as hiring good people and hoping they step up.
Founder Trap exists because I found a better way through that. Now I help other founders build aligned, high-trust and accountable leadership teams, so the business can move forward without everything coming back to them. Not because they are stepping away from responsibility, but because more decisions, ownership and accountability can sit with the team.
I work with ambitious founder-led businesses that are ready to build stronger leadership teams, make better decisions and reduce their dependence on one person.
Build the leadership team your business needs.
Most founders do not need another strategy. They need a leadership team that can think clearly, make decisions and take ownership without everything coming back to them.
By implementing EOS with me as your guide, you will build an aligned, high trust and accountable leadership team, and watch the business depend less on you every day

Personally, he’s freed up a lot of my time so that I can work on the things that I’m good at and empowered many of my team members to take on things that they enjoy and excel at.

Before implementing EOS, we lacked focus and had significant people problems. EOS drastically improved our culture and focus, bringing real issues to the forefront and facilitating tough conversations. I would absolutely recommend EOS to others because it's a universal framework that accelerates goal achievement for any business type or size. Working with Simon has been excellent. His personal EOS experience is invaluable, making each session impactful and relatable.
Brynley Lynes - Welfix
Before hiring Simon, our company lacked a clear, shared vision, leading to misaligned goals and priorities across the team. Simon was the perfect EOS coach for us because of his first hand experience with growing his own business. Working with Simon has been transformative. His guidance and introduction of Level 10 Meetings brought our leadership team together in a way we hadn't experienced before. Thanks to Simon, we’re more united and focused than ever.
Gamze Priest - Software Works for You
We chose to work with Simon because he’s been through this journey himself. He implemented EOS in his own business, saw firsthand how powerful it can be, and now brings that real-world credibility to his clients. His experience means he understands the challenges from a business owner's perspective, and that has made all the difference. He’s been an outstanding guide—insightful, supportive, and always challenging us in the right ways to ensure we get the most from EOS.
Richard Crunden - Vistec Cooling Systems
EOS provided the structure and discipline we needed through a prescribed method of implementation. This meant we didn't have to reinvent the wheel but could all subscribe to and follow a standard format. Simon has provided strong guidance and necessary discipline together with the support and compassion to enable us confront ourselves, face and fix our demons and gremlins in a relatively safe way, and to start looking and moving forwards with confidence and optimism.
Andrew Jones, Managing Director, S. Jones containers
EOS has brought clarity, accountability, and structure to our business. It helped us build a stronger, more cohesive team and improve leadership focus, communication, and processes. Simon’s real-world experience made all the difference. His guidance ensured we got the most from EOS. Looking back, we can’t imagine running our business without it. Excited for the future!
Richard Crunden - Vistec Cooling Systems
EOS helped us to understand the organisation more deeply, clarified what was essential versus optional, and introduced the focus and accountability that allowed the senior team to operate properly as a team. Simon has been calm, measured, and quietly challenging in the best possible way. What's been particularly helpful is that he has taken the time to really understand the type of organization we are as a membership led, not for profit organization.
